TXdot is preparing to install a median from 377 to 114 along 1709 with limited turn lanes. There are no planned turned lanes in front of Keystone Church. The result of this installation would require every person attending Keystone Church from Keller or Southlake to make a u-turn.
The city has a planned meeting to discuss the installation of the median on Tuesday, April 14th at 7:00pm. We are asking anyone who might be available to come and support our desire of adding a turn lane in front of Keystone Church.
Its our desire to maintain convenient access to the church so we can effectively impact our community.
The meeting will be held at Keller City Hall on Tuesday, April 14th at 7:00pm
More details about the TxDOT Median Plan can be found here.
This week, we received an email from a family who is determined to invite their neighbors to Keystone’s Easter services this weekend. Check out the email below.
…We wanted to come up with a creative idea, because when we’ve invited our immediate surrounding neighbors in the past, we get responses like, “We’re Catholic,” or “No thanks,” or they already go to their own church. And in the case of a couple of neighbors, they’re very committed Christians who are involved in their own church. So we decided that we had to reach out beyond just the neighbors whose houses we can see when we stand on our front step.
We bought 10 little boxes that are actually Chinese food carry out boxes, but are decorated for Easter. We got these at Michael’s. We also bought some Easter “grass,” plastic eggs, slice and bake cookies and some small chocolate eggs. Our daughter made the cookies, and once they were made, we all participated in filling each box with cookies and chocolate eggs, which went inside the plastic eggs. Then we’re going to print out small strips of paper with a Bible verse on each as well as a statement about the meaning of Easter. These are going inside of a plastic egg as well and then into the box. Finally, we’re printing out a Keystone invite from the website and including that in the box along with our name, address, phone number and “Happy Easter!” written on it. Once we close up the boxes, we’re attaching a glow stick necklace to the wire handle of the box, and when it gets dark tonight, we’re going to ten houses on our street (not our immediate neighbors mentioned above) and delivering the boxes as a Happy Easter present from one neighbor to another. Hopefully this will give us the lead in to invite the families to church for an Easter service.
We’ve really been praying about who to invite and how. We’re really hoping that some of our neighbors will be intrigued by their Easter gift from a neighbor and come on Easter! Thanks for all you do. You’re in our prayers on a regular basis.
God Bless.
We encourage you to be as creative as possible in how you invite your friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors. This weekend will be amazing!
